Aberconwy MP and troll-caller, Guto Bebb, has said he wishes to withdraw his accusation that Dylan Moore, a business associate of former Welsh Secretary David Jones, posted abusive messages about him and others on the Internet.
It has been claimed Guto Bebb misused his parliamentary privilege to make the allegations against Dylan Moore, a solicitor. But Bebb wished to draw a line under the issue. “As a result of lengthy and detailed discussions, I am satisfied that, contrary to the conclusions reached by the private investigator (Michael Naughton) and referenced in the House by myself Mr Moore was neither the author of the blog nor otherwise involved in it,” he said. “I now acknowledge that it was erroneous and I apologise unreservedly to Mr Moore for highlighting the conclusions of a third party during the debate.”
Dylan Moore said that the situation was regrettable and that the former Welsh Secretary David Jones should be commended. “The way Mr Bebb dealt with this matter should be contrasted with the dignified restraint of my colleague the Rt. Hon. David Jones MP undoubtedly one of the most decent and honourable people to sit in Parliament,” he said.
